Happy New Year!! Thanks for visiting this blog. Having New Year’s Resolution(s) is a thing most people do yearly. A new year presents us with the opportunity to start afresh, adopt better lifestyles, be better people, and do things better than the previous year.
This year, I want to daily keep my eyes focused on God as my source and live dependent on Him. Last year, I had many situations where I kept my eyes off God and tried to do things my way. This year, the major goal/plan is to do a better job trusting the heavenly father.
My little one enjoys standing. However, he doesn’t have the ability to stand on his own yet. He holds on to the couch, pillows, mommy, daddy, and grandparents for support. Occasionally, my little one forgets he is standing because he is holding on to someone or something. Each time my little one forgets his source of support and lets go of whatever/whoever he is holding, he ends up falling on his butt.
I don’t want to fall on my butt this year. Definitely not as much as I did last year. I am desperate to live in God’s perfect will for me and my family. Like my little one, I have to hold on to God for support and not lean on my own understanding. I must not forget the God who holds all things together. I must not forget there is a God holding me and my family, that I can’t stand out in life without God, and I can’t stand against evil and injustice without God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
