Wear Your Own Shoes,One Size Doesn’t Fit All

My 2 year old is OBSESSED with 2 things- swords and my house shoes. He doesn’t like wearing his shoes… or socks… or the slippers we bought him for Christmas. BUT if my house shoes aren’t on my feet, we all know where to find them.

But here’s the problem. They don’t fit him. They weren’t made for him. They aren’t his size. So when he walks in them, they are noisy, and he ALWAYS falls.

In a way, we are a lot like that with life. We see something that someone else has, we want it, we think we need it… so we buy it, or work hard to achieve it, or go against God’s leading to attain it….only to realize it’s not a good fit for us. It leaves us feeling clumsy and out of sorts.

If we could just embrace our uniqueness, our differences from others. If we could just step into the role God had for us rather than trying to be like someone else. We would feel more comfortable, content, and at peace.

Are you tempted to compare yourself to others? Wish you were different? Don’t underestimate God’s Purpose for your life. You were UNIQUELY designed by the Almighty, and His plans are always just the right fit.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
