A Walking Testimony

From one step to five steps and finally countless steps, we have been cheering the little one along like the cloud of witnesses. DH and I have been waiting for these days.

Honestly, I have been imagining the little one holding my legs while I workout and moving all over the house with HIS OWN TWO LEGS. It is delightful to watch those imaginations become realities.

Again, the little one has reached another milestone with us having nothing to do with it. We couldn’t make him walk earlier or later. The little one started walking at the perfect time. It was a process we couldn’t rush. All we could do was cheer him on each time he took one step, two steps…and keep cheering him on as he takes countless steps.

This is the walking testimony- God made room for our little one to walk. That’s how I can describe it and a close friend pointed out this fact without me sharing my thoughts with her. She wrote:

How good is God that he gave Josef strength to walk just as he got a bigger home. Gotta give it to Him. God’s timing is impeccable.

The little one started walking at the perfect time. When there was room enough to walk without getting hurt. A pointer to the uniqueness of each child and the fact that we can trust God’s timing. It also encourages me to quit trying to make things happen in my own power and rest in God’s sovereignty.

God made sure there was enough space for the little one to walk. A quick encouragement for you reading this to not give up on God’s promise. He has gone before you to make the crooked paths straight. At the right time, God will bring you into that place He promised and endue you with strength to walk in the room/place He is bringing you into.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Momma, your child is unique and when he/she reaches a milestone isn’t yours to worry about or make happen. More importantly, milestones do not determine how great your child will turn out. Relax. Whatever you are believing God to make happen in your child’s life will come to pass. Trust God’s timing.

There is a time to roll over, crawl, stand, walk, run, and fly. Trust God’s process. He makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him.

  1. Yes a walking testimony indeed! Amazing how you Also learned your own unique lesson observing your little one to walk. Yes, Gods timing is surely impeccable. I think this age of Google is making us parents into greater worriers. Thanks for the reminder to us parents that our children will achieve milestones at their own pace
