Happy Mother’s day to the waiting moms, single moms, foster moms, belly moms, spiritual moms and future mommas. You are worthy of daily celebration because your love is selflessness and enduring.
There is a lot to reflect on as I celebrate my first mother’s day with a child I birth through pain, sweat, joy, and laughter. God knows I will continue to give this child my all and most importantly make sure I bring him up in the way of the Lord, the way of love.
As a first time mom constantly seeking answers to questions about motherhood, I have come to realize that birthing a child doesn’t automatically make one a mother. We learn to become a mother. It is a gift. For we have seen and heard of women who commit inhumane acts against their own children. There are women who have never birth a child but have laid and will lay down their lives for the child of another.
To be a mother is to be a good steward. For our children are on loan to us and we are temporary custodians of every child we mother. A mother is a comforter, a selfless and relentless woman. Knocking down the gates of hell to snatch her children from every force (addiction, perversion, sicknesses, demonic influence) that seeks to destroy them. A mother never stop giving her love. She is many times the only one who believes when all hope is lost.
Mommas, that’s who you are. you are more powerful than you acknowledge. Happy mother’s day!
