Teething Lessons

It took almost one year for the little one to grow two front teeth. Meanwhile, he started “teething” when he was 4 months old.

Teething was uncomfortable. The little one kept chewing on his fingers, teething toys, and anything mouthable. There were instances where he was grinding his gum.

Interestingly, the absence of teeth didn’t stop the little one from chewing and eating any food we offered him.

The little one’s teething process reminds me of Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.

If there is one thing I really don’t like doing, it is waiting. However, I am learning the importance of waiting from a place of trust and rest in God as my father.

The little one’s teeth showed up after months of discomfort and waiting. To strangers and relatives, it seemed like the little one’s teeth showed up late but I believe those teeth showed up at the perfect time.

Are you believing God for a breakthrough? Is there something, a word, an idea or a vision God has given you but it seems like it’s taking forever to see what God promised?

Habakkuk 2:3 is for you.

God is perfect in his timing.

James 1:4 says “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

Enter into God’s rest, my dear friend.
