Self-feeding

The little one is perfecting self-feeding with spoon. It is an important survival skill. The little one feels independent and accomplished as he explores the act of self-feeding. His smile and excitement when handed a spoon with a bowl of food says it all. Today, he was nice enough to feed me while I was supervising his self-feeding adventure. That was the highlight of my day.

I will confess that there are seasons I listen to Christian messages and read books written by those in the faith MORE THAN I spend time studying the Word. Today, I am reminded that self-feeding on God’s word is an important survival skill and I need to STUDY, not just READ. I need to know God’s word as one who is in a relationship with him, not always through someone else’s relationship with God.

While it is great to listen to men and women of God, it is important to get revelation and insight directly from God. Yes, pastors, evangelists, prophets, etc. have unique gifts and God reveals things through them. Yet, God wants to speak to each of his children directly.

It is easy to be misled when we don’t study the word personally. When we study the word , we get first-hand revelation. we feed our spirit, and train our soul to discern truth from trash. Our father in heaven has an open door policy, we can come to him, hear, and learn from him directly.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

  1. Sometimes I think I need to relearn self feeding like tonight when I ate spaghetti-gluten free- with a lot of sauce and realized I had spots all over my shirt. 🙂

Yes studying the word for ourselves is so important 🙂

  2. Love the way you brought this to light. So adorable @ your son feeding you. 😊
We need a place of sitting and personal dwelling with God. Can’t agree any less!. It has helped me more than ever.
