Behind the Scene

This post was originally written when the little one was 3-month old. It is interesting that I was referred back to this post as I find myself thinking about what God is doing behind the scene this season. It is January and my faith is being stretched already. haaa! What a way to start the year. My hope is that you would find this post encouraging if your faith is being stretched early in January. 🙂

To ease my little one’s stomach gas and help with his bowel movement, I occasionally place a hot water bottle filled with warm water on his stomach. It works! During this period of gas discomfort, my baby cries, wants to be carried and doesn’t want to be left alone. He doesn’t understand that laying him down for a few minutes while I prepare the hot water bottle doesn’t mean I am ignoring him. Laying him down instead of carrying him while I prepare the bottle for his stomach makes it faster to address his problem. The little one cannot see behind the scene.

In like manner, God is at work behind the scene. God does not ignore his children. In fact, God has already given us victory over our challenges. We only need to believe, receive and wait for the manifestation of those things we prayed for. In seasons of discomfort, it’s psychologically difficult to see the big picture. God’s angels are constantly working behind the scene to put everything in place for that season of discomfort to end quickly. I am learning to trust that God truly makes all things work together for my good because I love and seek him (Romans 8:28). The discomfort, waiting, and breakthrough are for my good. They all work together to help me become a better person.

Discomfort, affliction, and trials are only momentary.

2 Corinthians 4:17 King James Version (KJV)- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

  1. This is so true ! Often we don’t understand why God doesn’t act immediately , but then as the events roll on we realise how unprepared we would have been if the prayer had been answered when we wanted rather than when God intended it to happen.

  2. Exactly! This happens all the time. Whenever I reflect on the miracles and answered prayers, God’s way always turn out to be better than I wanted or prayed for. It’s in the waiting!

  3. I love this… GOD IS AT WORK BEHIND THE SCENE.
Many times we feel like God is not answering us. But we need to be patient and trust in his timing.
