Trained for Motherhood

This picture was taken about 5 years ago. I was doing what soldiers do, training for battle indoor and outdoor. Always thinking about “readiness”. I had to “maintain my arms, my equipments and myself “. Interestingly, God was also using that period to prepare me for motherhood.

My motherhood journey began with a strong feeling of incompetency. I did not know what a healthy mother-infant relationship should look like. I needed help and cried out to God. God began to show me how my life experiences have prepared me for motherhood. He told me I was competent. God reminded me that He does not ask us to do what He has not equipped us for.

My military experience was part of my training for motherhood. Growing up an orphan was also a part of it. God is using my past to bring something beautiful out of me in motherhood. He is also using motherhood to grow my faith.

God is the one who teaches me how to mother and we all need God in mothering. Let us partner with God and stop trying to make things work solely based on our natural abilities.

God has used your experiences to prepare you for motherhood. Can you see it?

  1. When I read this what I thought about is it is our mission to raise children to follow God. God designed the roles of family in which children are cared for, loved, trained and empowered. This requires guidance from the Holy Spirit and a whole lot of patience. Being a Kingdom mom encompasses upholding biblical expectations and she must know when to let go of the children she nurtured.

I love the picture. You look like you was ready to kick some butt lol.

  2. Smiles. Blessed be God truly who trains our hearts and hearts to battle. Who prepares our feet and gives us strength even before we need it. Blessed be God in all circumstances He has prepared us in advance. Blessed be God Who is faithful!.

Thanks for this share sis. That text just came in at the right time for me. Blessed be God our Father who knows our needs from our wants. 🙌
