As we celebrate Black History Month in the United States, I would like to encourage African American parents to stand strong in faith and not bow to the spirit of fear. The evil spirit of racism is still at work, but we already have the victory over that which threatens our lives and our children. We must enforce our victory with words and actions.
While teaching our children African American history, our nation’s history of racism must be discussed in a way that does not make our children fearful. We must make our children aware of their royal identity in God and treat them like royal children. We must dress and address them like royalties. How we treat our children impacts their perception of self. We should let them know that the color of their skin is not a limitation because God is the one who opens doors no man can shut, and God created all skin tones beautifully.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Our children must know that acts of racism have nothing to do with who they are, it has everything to do with the heart of the racist. A racist needs Jesus and is in bondage to the spirit of hate. Being captive to the spirit of hate is a pitiful state to be.
Our children must know that they are mighty in God, they have angels at work for them, and they can do all things through Christ. They should never live in fear of racism and understand that the racist is a victim. We are not victims, we are victorious! The enemy wants us to live with the mindset of a victim so that we can live a defeated life and keep making excuses for our failures. It is time to think Like gods, it is time to live like gods.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Our freedom is in our minds and hearts. We are free indeed! Our children are free!
Love this little sister. God created all of us. He loves all of us. Racism is a sin against God and our fellow human beings. It is a reflection on the heart of the racist only.
