Christian Mommas

Thoughts on the Coronavirus

Whether the Coronavirus is overhyped or just like the influenza virus, this viral epidemic is thriving on the spirit of fear. As a Christian mother, I refuse to bow to the spirit of fear and I encourage you all to stand strong in faith. We should maintain good hygiene and enforce our authority as kingdom citizens, not of this world but in it.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.~ 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

My prayer is that well meaning scientists receive divine wisdom to deal with this virus quickly. God can use scientists. In addition to this prayer, I find myself praying in the Spirit about this issue because I honestly do not know what to pray for specifically.

Schools have shut down for safety reasons, flights have been canceled, stores ran out of hand sanitizers and masks, and sneezing or coughing in public makes everyone suspicious. My sessions with clients have been affected and other personal plans have been impacted.

This epidemic serves as a reminder that we are indirectly impacted by what affect others. With this in mind, we cannot afford to be selfish in the place of prayer. There is always someone and somewhere to pray for. While God is omnipotent and sovereign, He often does not interfere in our affairs without our permission. God desires for us to stand in the gap for our families, communities, and people we do not know. May our hearts and eyes be opened.
