Celebrating Obedience

I was sad to hear that Ravi Zacharias passed away this morning. He was a man of great wisdom. He spoke the truth in love. While I sorrow that he is no longer with us, I am glad he is free from pain and I will see him in heaven.

Dr. Ravi’s transition to glory reminded me of Reinhard Bonnke who went home peacefully in December 2019. Reinhard Bonnke’s life and ministry challenges me to come up higher in my walk with God.

These great men obeyed God’s call. They had the audacity to stand for the truth, God’s Word without fear or compromise. Their obedience led to the salvation of souls, healings, and the restoration of many.

Our life is most meaningful when we live in obedience to God’s call. As I reflect on the legacies of these great men, I am challenged to focus on everything God has called me to do while I live in this temporary body and home.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
