Grieving Heart

Peaceful protests against racism have turned into violent protests in various states here in the United States. My county was placed on curfew last night and a state of emergency was declared.

My heart grieves that there is racism going on even in the Church. My heart grieves for Black mothers and wives living in fear. My heart grieves that people are comparing abortion and racism. This issue is being politicized. Abortion and racism are two great evils causing the death of African-Americans. We sadly also have one of the highest maternal and infant mortality rates.

My grieving heart leads me to a place of travail in prayer. So, I am praying for the healing of this land and every hurting heart. I pray that the hearts of racists will be transformed. I pray that fear and division bows in the name of the one who is love, Jesus. I pray that the U.S. president will receive godly counsel and unite the nation with his words. I pray that justice will prevail. Please join me in prayer. Yes, we can fight by praying. Yes, we can fight by voting. Yes, we can fight by loving. Yes, we can fight by repenting and forgiving.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. ~ James 5:16

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-3
