My Son and Servant

The little one is fast becoming a more responsible member of the family. I have honestly been waiting for him to run errands around the house. He is both a son and a servant in the house. He helps with his laundry, brings the TV remote (very important 😂😂), and helps with other minor chores. I look forward to seeing him do greater works like cooking, vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms, doing grocery shopping, etc.

My heart, soul, and all of me rejoices when the little one serves. What the little one’s service does to me is indescribable. I sometimes want to shout “you are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased”.

As I rejoice over the little one’s service, I am reminded that the heavenly father also take pleasure in the selfless service of His children.

Service often requires looking beyond self and bearing the burden of others. It requires doing the things that are valuable to others. So, what is most valuable to God? The salvation of souls. That is why God sent Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

If God is not willing that any should perish or die in sin, then he wants all men saved from sin and eternal damnation. 1 Timothy 2:4 states “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

The salvation of souls is a kingdom cause. It is God’s will. Therefore, anyone who serves or desires to serve the father must be passionate about the human soul.

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, praying that God’s kingdom will come and God’s will be done in earth were top in priority because they are dear to the father’s heart. I want you to keep this in mind: When we are about the things that are dear to the heavenly father’s heart, we can dare and do the impossible.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 (please read the entire chapter to get the context)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21

Knowing that God is passionate about salvation, I have purposed in my heart to be passionate about the human soul…and I know that God will continue to empower me and give me the grace to burn with passion for the salvation of souls.

I may not be known as an evangelist, missionary or a pastor, but I will raise children who love God. I will pray for the salvation of souls in my community and all nations of the earth. I will pray for pastors, missionaries, and all those in the front line winning souls. I will use my finances for the work of God. I will let my light shine and not settle for less than what the Bible says. If anyone ever ask me for the source of my joy and the secret to my success, I will always point them to Jesus. I will write blog posts that point to Jesus. I will tell someone about Jesus and all that I do will be for God’s glory.

Those are my soul winning strategies. If you are a Christian, join me in doing what the heavenly father is most passionate about. Seek God’s will in all you do. Begin to see every soul as precious in God’s eyes. Let your life point to Jesus. Do not be ashamed to share the gospel of Jesus when you have an opportunity to do so. God will help you do His will.

If you are not a Christian, I would like to introduce you to the God who loves you and desires the best life for you. Say this prayer “Heavenly father, I come to you today. I receive the gift of salvation. Forgive my sins and reveal yourself to me in Jesus name”. Welcome to the family! Have questions or need prayer? Send me a message via contact@christianmommas.com

I pray that the eyes of your understanding be opened this moment. God loves you. I love you. Be blessed.

Life is too short to live another moment without chasing the things that matter to God.

      Thanks. 🌷🌷🌷

  2. Great post!! I’ve been thinking a lot about the word “servant,” as I’ve been caring for my grandma so much lately and at times it’s not always peaches and cream. Thank you for your encouragement through your words in this post!

    1. Thank you. I can imagine it is not always easy. I was my grandfather’s caretaker for a long time in my teenage years, it was not easy but I look back now and thank God I had the opportunity to take care of him. Stay encouraged. There is great reward for serving others. ♥️
