You Did Not Fail!

You didn’t fail as a mother.

Not even a little bit.

You could not have prevented this if you tried harder, prayed harder or was a better mother nor if you loved harder or wasn’t so hard on them neither not hard enough. Your child has free mortal agency meaning they have “free will.”

In these moments where it seems like your child is going against everything that was instilled in them, you did everything you possible could have as a Kingdom mom. That is the ultimate kind of love. So, turn a deaf ear to the naysayers, critics or those who bolted in the other direction when you needed them the most. Forget about the people who judged you or stigmatized you because of what happened to you. Forget about anyone who has made you feel less than by questioning everything you did and everything you didn’t do or anyone whose words or demeanor who may have implied this was somehow your fault.

This was not your fault.

This will never be your fault; people have to make their own choices in life including our children. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise especially if that someone happens to be you. Sometimes it’s not what other people say that keeps us in bondage, sometimes you embrace other people’s misguided opinions and assumptions. Sometimes it is your own inner voice that pushes you into the dark corner of despair, like an abuser, telling you over and over again you failed as a mother. Convince you if only this and what if that, it would’ve never happened this way.

Kingdom Mom—no one could ever replace you in your child’s life. No one.

You were chosen to be your child’s mother. Yes-chosen.

You have within you powerful strength.

So, mama, keep praying……

Don’t stop believing, keep believing……

Fight mama keep fighting for the soul of your child in spiritual warfare. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy—you didn’t fail.

For whatever it’s worth, I see you. I hear your silent cries. I know because I relate to your pain. I know what is like to go to bed wondering where your child is. I know what it’s to feel you lost an argument with them when all you were trying to do is give them wisdom and guide them in the right direction. I know the pain of looking at parents with their children that seem like everything is blissful in their family. Been there, done that. You are not a perfect mother, but you are a mother of great strength. You fall down and get back up, fall down and get up, over and over again. I know the strength and courage it takes to pry yourself out of bed every single day despite feeling like you failed as a mom. I know the path of walking this life as a mom that makes you question “where did you go wrong.”

It’s a fight for your own survival.

A fight to silence the lies of the enemy.

Because the truth is, you haven’t failed at all.

In fact, it’s quite the contrary.

You are a Kingdom mom that does not parent your child according to the world’s standards but according to the Word of God.

Truly empowering, courageous mother there is—a warrior mama through and through.

  1. You are right, our children have the power to make their own decisions. When they stray, we can be comforted that we have done our best and our prayers for their soul will not go unanswered. We can hold on to this scripture- “I will save your children” (Isaiah 49:25).

  2. Thanks for sharing this ma’am. The lord is for you and everyone going through this too. And I believe these ones will eventually come around because you are relentless in your service to your children as the Lord will have you do. ❤
