Sensitization

Recently, I stumbled on a movie ad and the word ‘sensitization’ was impressed on my heart. Within a minute, I could see how our little ones are being conditioned to accept witchcraft and unbiblical ideologies. I saw everything God hates being subtly normalized through entertainment.

Sensitization refers to a change in emotional, neurological, and behavioral state after frequent exposure to a substance or condition. You can read more about sensitization here Sensitization happens over time through exposure to the same information.

How can Christians prevent themselves from being sensitized by the media? Through sacrificial living and daily communication with God (Worship, Word, Prayer, etc.). We cannot afford to be lukewarm. We must stand for truth in the face of persecution (Mark 8:38) and despise what God despises.

Let’s reflect on these Bible verses:

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT)

I pray that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened and we will be begin to grow deeper in love with God in Jesus name.

Would you like to become a member of God’s family? Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen
