The day before Jesus was born, the earth was waiting for redemption and all the great things the presence of God in the flesh brought to earth. The birth of Jesus revealed the heart of the father. It revealed the love of God (John 3:16)- the God who manifests himself as the Father, Son, and the HolySpirit. My natural mind cannot comprehend this truth, but my soul has experienced this truth and my spirit is alive because of this truth. This wonder keeps me in awesome wonder!
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
This Christmas eve, the scripture impressed on my heart is Romans 8:19. It says:
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (KJV)
For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed. (CSB)
Just like the earth was waiting for Jesus, creation awaits our manifestation as sons of God. Creation is waiting to know the true identity of those who call themselves Christian. For us to manifest our sonship/identity in Christ, we must live with a strong awareness of God’s presence in us and upon us. It’s a life of daily adoration of the one who is forever worthy of our worship.
