Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 reassures me of God’s supernatural strength in me. This verse is helping me stay calm and sane this season. I truly believe worry or anxiety have been kept under control because I meditate on God’s Word as I take each challenge one day at a time. Having a scripture themed wallpaper can help us stay mindful of God’s Word all day long. Below is my current wallpaper for this season as a mom of two little ones wearing many hats.

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.. Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV)

It is important to meditate on Philippians 4:13 with verse 12 in mind. For me, the secret of being content in any and every situation is acknowledging the sovereignty of God- keeping Romans 8:28 in mind. Romans 8:28 (NIV) says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I love that whole letter, but my favourite for several months is just a few verses before yours – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERY situation, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God. And the PEACE of GOD, which transcend all understanding, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS in CHRIST JESUS”. Philippians 4:6-7
