Humility

As I meditate on scriptures about Jesus’ final moments on earth, I am left in awe of Jesus’ humility. My heart’s cry this season is “Lord, teach me to humble myself”. Jesus had the power to stop those who mocked and tortured him (Matthew 26:53). Yet, he laid down His life (John 10:18). Humility made Him say “not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Jesus did not show off His power. He submitted to God’s perfect will. Jesus used His power to reveal the love of the father, not to draw attention to Himself.

Since 1 John 2:6 says “Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did”, I have been asking myself these questions:

What are you using God’s power in you for?

Are you using your platform to draw people to God or yourself?

Are you trying to make yourself known or make God known?

Do you truly desire God’s perfect will to prevail in your life?

As I do a heart check with these questions, I repent for every time I fell short.

God, help me!

I love you all!

What are you learning this season?

Would you like to become a member of God’s family? Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen

Welcome to God’s family!
