Unoffendable

Have you ever tried being friendly, but you were not treated in a friendly manner? I experienced that recently and it did not hurt my feelings. I remembered grandma Sally‘s comment on my post, “offense“.

God is taking me to a place where offense and pride would be costly. So, I am working on being unoffendable, and it is liberating. There is a difference between knowing that we deserve to be treated better and a “how dare this nobody treat or talk to me that way.” The former is self-respect, and the latter is pride.

Also, the fact that grandma Sally’s comment about offense and pride came to mind is a great reminder that our written words are powerful. I love my grandma Sally. Her words of wisdom and encouragement are precious seeds.

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.Hebrews 12:15 (NLT)

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Would you like to become a member of God’s family? Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen
