Empty Pouch

Recently, I asked the little one to give his brother an empty pouch of caprisun in exchange for a full pouch of caprisun. He refused my offer because a full pouch was not in sight. I was upset that he could not look beyond the moment and help solve the problem at hand (calm his crying brother by giving him an empty pouch). It then dawned on me that my expectations were partially unrealistic for a three-year-old human. His ability to reason and think logically is emerging, and my job is to expand his capacity to bridge between ideas and think logically. Today, I made him a similar offer. This time, I explained things better, and he made the best decision.

The empty pouch is like a life without God. It is purposeless or purpose-driven in the wrong direction. God offers us a full and purpose-driven life when we surrender our lives to Him daily.

Does your life feel meaningless despite all you have accomplished in life? Do you want to live a life with eternal value? Do you feel like there is more to this life? Does something in you crave the supernatural? God created you, and He put the desire for eternity in you. I know what emptiness feels like and I know no earthly accomplishment can fill the void.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)

I would like to introduce you to the God who has made my life full and beautiful. I face challenges with hope and even when seemingly bad things happen, every day is a good day with this God on my side. This God loves you as well and He wants you to become His child. You only need to desire to know Him and surrender your life to Him by asking Him to be your Lord. His Lordship means His presence will fill the emptiness in your heart, and He will empower you to let go of habits or lifestyles that contribute to the emptiness you feel. You will begin a new life, and you will know it. I can’t explain this process because it is a personal encounter and divine process. You may read this before you proceed.

Are you ready? Say this:

“Dear God,

I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness.
I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died
for my sin and that you raised Him to life.
I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord,
from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will.

I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

If you prayed, let me know about it here.

Still skeptical? Say this: “God, reveal yourself to me. Help me to believe”

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)
