Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:4-5(NLT)
My husband and I are blessed to be parents and grateful for being chosen to raise three amazing children as a result of their birth parents’ sacrifice.
As a result of my personal experience and having many other friendships with people in the adoption triad, I want to honor birth mothers, especially for their heartfelt decision.
“Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! Isaiah 49:15 (NLT)
I am not a master at adoption. I don’t begin to claim to know all things. I am humbled to have seen and gathered information by other birth families regarding the amazing grace and mercy of the adoption experience. I have learned so much about the depth of love and God’s love through my children’s lives. The Lord works in the threads of each of our lives.God loves us regardless of the detours or times of trial, that may bring shame or guilt. He wants to guide our lives and bring healing.
It is my hope and prayer that “Healing through Sacrifice Bible Study” will bring hope, grace and peace and help others support birth families. May they feel honored for their sacrifice.
