Spiritual Growth and Your Peace of Mind

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.

2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)

We grow in the knowledge of God, and Jesus our Lord through the Word. As we study and meditate on the Word, we see God’s will and the Holy Spirit empowers us to practice the truth we know. For example, if you study and meditate on scriptures addressing forgiveness, you will fall in love with the God who forgives all your sins and develop the capacity to forgive others in advance. When forgiving others in advance becomes your way of life, you will enjoy peace in your relationships, and resentment, bitterness, and other negative emotions will not have room in your heart. What freedom!

Growing in the knowledge of God and Jesus is synonymous with spiritual growth. As you develop your relationship with God, you will begin to know and follow God’s ways (John 5:19; Psalm 103:7), leading to peace in every sphere of life. For example, we cannot experience peace in parenting if we do not know God’s laws or ways of parenting. I urge you to expand your spiritual knowledge in different aspects of life and practice what God reveals to you. That’s an important way to multiply peace.

Please meditate on the following scriptures highlighting how developing a relationship with God and following His ways bring peace:

  • O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: Isaiah 48:18 (KJV)
  • Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
  • When a man’s ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7 (KJV)

If you want peace, listen to your heavenly Father, obey and trust in God, and make pleasing the Lord your priority.

If today was your last day on earth, do you know where you will spend eternity? Are you sure you will make it to heaven? If you are not sure, you need to give your life to Jesus Christ. Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive Your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen

Welcome to God’s family!
