Happy Thanksgiving, Christian Mommas Community!
Today, we pause, not just to acknowledge the blessings in our lives, but to enter a deeper realm of holy remembrance, the kind of thanksgiving that shifts atmospheres, heals hearts, and aligns us with the supernatural work of God.
The Theology of Thanksgiving
In Scripture, thanksgiving is not merely politeness or positive thinking; it is worship. The Hebrew word “todah” (תּוֹדָה) means thanksgiving, praise, and confession. It carries the idea of extending the hands in surrender, offering gratitude even before the breakthrough arrives. Todah is not reactive; it is prophetic.
When we give thanks, we acknowledge who God is and declare that His faithfulness defines our reality—even when our circumstances have not yet changed. That is why the psalmist boldly proclaims:
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving (todah) and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.” — Psalm 100:4
Thanksgiving is the gateway to His presence. It is the spiritual posture that unlocks intimacy, clarity, and divine rest.
Thanksgiving in the New Covenant

In the New Testament, one of the Greek words for thanksgiving is “eucharisteo”, which means to give thanks with grace. It is the same word used when Jesus broke bread at the Last Supper:
“And He took bread, gave thanks (eucharisteo), and broke it…” — Luke 22:19
Embedded within the act of thanksgiving is grace, communion, and covenantal fellowship. When we give thanks, we participate in the supernatural rhythm of heaven—the rhythm where lack becomes supply, sorrow becomes joy, and ordinary becomes miraculous.
Thanksgiving Is Supernatural
Gratitude does something powerful in the unseen realm. It:
- Shifts our spiritual atmosphere (Philippians 4:6–7)
- Releases peace that surpasses understanding
- Breaks cycles of fear, anxiety, and heaviness
- Positions us to recognize God’s hand in our everyday moments
- Aligns our hearts with God’s will, inviting Him to move in and through us
Thanksgiving is not just a moment. It is a mantle.

A Thanksgiving Prayer
“Father, today we lift our hands in todah. We thank You—not only for what You have done, but for who You are. Let our gratitude open gates, shift atmospheres, and draw us deeper into Your presence. Bless every momma, every home, every heart connected to this community. May Thanksgiving become our lifestyle, our spiritual rhythm, and our offering of love to You. Amen.”
Happy Thanksgiving!
May the God of all grace fill your heart and your home with peace, joy, and supernatural gratitude.
