Embracing Our Divine Responsibility

“God’s sovereignty does not absolve us of our responsibility.”Shenica Nelson

Welcome back to the Promise Keeper Series! If you have not read last week’s post, I encourage you to take a moment to digest its content here.

Years ago, I received a little red book called “The Bible Promise Book.” It sat on my shelf, largely untouched, for many years. Occasionally, I’d pick it up, read a promise or two, and then return it to its place. The book contains 72 promises, and it didn’t occur to me at the time that while many promises were uplifting, others were quite sobering.

This may surprise some, but God’s Word beautifully outlines the cause and effect of our actions. It provides us with virtues to embrace, ensuring we receive the favorable promises God intends for us as believers.

As I continued my journey of faith, one truth became abundantly clear: God’s sovereignty does not negate our responsibility as Christians. We have a significant role in God’s plan, beginning with our willingness to listen and obey.

Today, let’s focus on the promise found in Matthew 25’s parable of the talents. I encourage you to spend time with this passage, seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance as you examine your life through its lens.

In Matthew 25:21-30, we see a powerful lesson about faithfulness. Those who were faithful with what they had were rewarded with greater authority, while the unfaithful servant faced severe consequences.

Our faith demands seriousness, reflecting God’s power and divinity on earth. You, a mighty woman of valor, are called to embody these virtues. Embrace your divine responsibility and watch how God’s promises unfold in your life.

Here is a list of virtues to start your process of self-reflection:

7. Generosity
