Welcome back to the Rhythms & Renewal Series.
If you have not yet engaged with the Christian Mommas Meditation, this week is a powerful invitation into renewal as we step into a new year. Sister Temi is guiding us into deeper levels of illumination through the New Beginning Meditation. This is more than a moment of reflection; it is an intentional rhythm designed to anchor us in the Word of God and sharpen our spiritual discernment for this season.
I encourage you to incorporate this meditation into your daily habits. Whether you have missed previous moments or are just beginning, every meditation is available within the Christian Mommas App to support you as you cultivate a renewed mind and spirit.
This week, however, I am extending a deeper invitation: to renew your parenting rhythms.
Parenting in New Seasons Requires New Revelation
One of the rhythms I am personally exploring is parenting a new adult. I have officially been a mother for 18 years, and yet this season feels entirely new. With new seasons come new levels of revelation, and those revelations require intentional seeking of the Holy Spirit.
For the first time in my motherhood journey, I am parenting from two dimensions. I have one child who is still a minor and another who is now an adult. Each requires a different measure of wisdom. Each demands a deeper level of spiritual discernment, emotional intelligence, and relational intimacy.
Motherhood does not remain static. As our children grow, our homes shift, our responsibilities change, and our calling as mothers deepens. What worked in a previous season may not carry the grace needed for the current assignment.
When Growth Demands Humility
As we mature spiritually, the impact on our homes is undeniable. Our cultural awareness, emotional intelligence, and relational leadership must grow with us. This requires humility; humility to learn again, to lean on the Spirit in a fresh way, and to release patterns that no longer serve the purpose of God in our families.
Do not expect the same parenting methods to function effectively at every level of your children’s development. Each season carries its own anointing, and with it, a requirement for renewed wisdom and presence with God.
For parents of adult children, motherhood takes on a different form. It requires restraint, discernment, and spiritual authority rather than control. For grandmothers, spiritual mothers, foster parents, and those stewarding stepchildren, the invitation remains the same: seek the face of the Lord for strategies tailored to this season.
Emotional intelligence is not only for personal growth; it is a tool of stewardship for those entrusted to our care.
A Collective Renewal
This year, I sense deeply that the Lord is renewing us—not individually, but as a collective body of believing mothers. As we align our rhythms with His presence, our homes become spaces of clarity, peace, and spiritual formation. Renewal is not resistance; it is obedience.
Action Plan: Renewing Your Parenting Rhythms
1. Discern the Season You Are Parenting In
Practice (Weekly – 15 minutes):
- Identify the season of each child in your care (minor, teen, adult, grandchild, spiritual child).
- Journal or pray through the specific wisdom each season requires.
Scripture:
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
2. Establish a Daily Rhythm of Illumination
Practice (Daily):
- Engage with the Christian Mommas Meditation, focusing on the New Beginning Meditation.
- Carry one scripture or phrase throughout your day.
Scripture:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night.” (Joshua 1:8)
3. Renew Your Parenting Language
Practice (Weekly Reflection):
- Evaluate your tone, responses, and expectations.
- Ask where instruction needs to shift toward discernment or coaching.
Scripture:
“Let your speech always be with grace.” (Colossians 4:6)
4. Apply Emotional Intelligence as Spiritual Stewardship
Practice (Monthly Focus):
- Choose one emotional skill to model intentionally (self-regulation, empathy, boundaries, discernment).
- Reflect on how your responses shape the emotional environment of your home.
Scripture:
“Above all else, guard your heart.” (Proverbs 4:23)
5. Redefine Your Role Without Releasing Your Calling
Practice (Quarterly Prayer Reset):
- Pray into your evolving role as a mother, grandmother, or spiritual covering.
- Ask God for wisdom to lead from maturity and spiritual authority.
Scripture:
Titus 2:3–4

Closing Reflection
As you lean into new rhythms, trust that God is faithful to supply the wisdom required for each season of motherhood. Renewal is not about doing more; it is about aligning deeper. When we remain in His presence, He equips us with the power and revelation needed for greater impact in our families and beyond.
This is the year of renewed rhythms and renewed strength.
