My American dream was to become an American, a citizen of the most powerful nation on earth. After living in the U.S. for 5 1/2 years, I achieved my American dream by serving in the most powerful military in the world. Yup, the U.S. military! I worked hard to earn it and I put my life on the line for it. It’s exactly 4 years and 1 month since I became an American citizen. It was one of the best days of my life. A few days ago one of my favorite Christian ministers, Christine Caine celebrated her family’s new American nationality. It added more fire to my sense of pride in being American.

For those of us who became an American citizen by choice, it is a privilege we hold dear. It’s a privilege we cherish even though we worked hard for it. We see the freedom…
