Celebrating Six Years of Christian Mommas (2)

Christian Mommas’ team members are warrior women from diverse backgrounds united by the power of Christ. As we reflect on the power and goodness of God at work over the past 6 years at Christian Mommas, Amorita Weaver, our warrior Jael and vice president of our Mentorship-Discipleship program, Koinonia, shares her experience with Christian Mommas:

I was first introduced to Christian Mommas in the Fall of 2022 through a devotional on YouVersion. I had recently transitioned to being a stay-at-home momma and was battling anxiety, depression, and wrestling with my identity apart from my career. It was a low and despairing season. I knew there had to be more to the Christian life. If God’s Word is Truth, then the hopelessness I was experiencing was not His plan for me. I needed help navigating the turbulent waters and desired someone ‘older and wiser’ to walk alongside me.

In the early months of 2023, I completed the mentorship program, and my life will never be the same. Through the program, the truth of God’s Word exposed the lies, misconceptions, and sin embedded in my heart and mind. So many truths and promises from His Word have transformed my life – my role as a mother, wife, daughter, and sister.

I am secure and confident because of my identity in Christ. I am experiencing profound freedom regarding my mental health. The empowerment of walking in the strength and leading of the Holy Spirit has shifted my spiritual walk from one of endless striving to that of peace and rest.

The joy of doing life with Sisters in Christ is beautiful. We edify, teach, and hold each other accountable. We fast, pray, listen, love, and seek to glorify God.

This ministry models the biblical definition of discipleship. It has, and is, teaching me to walk the Spirit-filled life. I never imagined God would take my passion for helping and encouraging women from the medical field to ministry. But here I am, and I know He’s not done with me yet. How exciting it is to be a part of something bigger and greater than myself. All glory to God!
