You Are Royalty: An Invitation to Live as a Royal Priesthood

A few days ago, I made a post after my imagination was running wild, and I began to write. I began to imagine ROYALTY like I never realized before. Then, all of a sudden, my heart broke as I realized the royal story that was coming to mind is true, and it is a storyline straight from the faith.

Initially, I have to be honest, I was daydreaming. Most of my writings start out with me seeing a visual, then capturing that vision. It then leads me to researching, and I don’t have to mention how many hours that can take. I love it, though, because it always leads me back to the Lord, back to a posture of gratitude, grace, and His love. But this, when I read it, I thought to myself, it is not just a fairytale to keep hidden in my writing pad, but rather something to be shared to encourage the saints. It all made sense when I reread it a few days later to a heightened level of revelation.

Imagine this: You’ve been dating someone for years. You think you know him well—his laughter, his hopes, his quirks. Then, one day, he pulls you aside and reveals a secret that changes everything. He’s not just any man. He’s a Prince. A real one. A whole Prince.

Your heart races as you try to grasp it. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, he looks into your eyes and says, “I want to marry you.” Just like that, your life shifts. Suddenly, you’re no longer just you, you’re now part of a royal lineage. Your identity changes forever.

Now, picture this: His Father—the King—hands him the keys to the Kingdom. Crowned him not only King but also Priest. And because you are now joined with him, all that belongs to him becomes yours. You go from ordinary to royalty. From striving to abundance. From overlooked to chosen.

Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?

But then, imagine rejecting it. Walking away from all the benefits of the Kingdom—the royal authority, the priestly access, the protection, the provision—because it feels too overwhelming. Too good to be true. Too different from the life you’ve known. So, instead, you choose to live like everyone else, as if nothing changed. As if you’re still ordinary.

Crazy, right? Most people would say, “No way! I would never walk away from that!”

And yet, this is exactly what many do—when it comes to the inheritance we have in Christ. Even as I compose this message, I am seeing ways I have rejected royalty for a lack of understanding. Can you relate?

The Prince of Peace has come. He has been crowned King. And through Him, we are called to live as a Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). This isn’t just a fancy title or a distant dream. It’s our reality as followers of Jesus.

Ephesians 1:18 says it like this: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.”

This inheritance is not a fairy tale—it’s the greatest royal story of all time. A story written by the King Himself.

So, what does it mean for us today? It means walking boldly in the identity God has given us. It means knowing that we are chosen, beloved, and empowered to serve as both royalty and priests in His Kingdom.

Let’s embrace this calling. Let’s stop settling for ordinary when God’s plan for us is extraordinary. You are not just a mom, a wife, a friend—you are part of a Royal Priesthood, crowned with purpose and grace.

Will you step into the Kingdom today? Will you live like the royalty you are?

Because the King is waiting. He is waiting for you to rise and take your rightful place.
