This day 6 years ago, I achieved my American dream.. I became a naturalized American citizen through military service. It was a difficult legal road to citizenship. The path to becoming a soldier was difficult. I was yelled at, my spirit, soul, & body changed, I injured my left femur, and had reasons to quit but I didn’t.
…I immigrated to the United States as an international student and was stuck in the community college for 5 years due to financial difficulties. When I discovered the United States Army was recruiting international students who could speak certain foreign languages needed to combat terrorism, I saw a great opportunity to change my life and used it. I knew deployment to a war zone was possible but it was more risky to not take a risk. I enlisted, served, and I am still alive, enjoying the benefits of taking a risk. I will write about “the benefits” in another post.

The road to becoming, unbecoming or achieving a dream is not always easy. Yet, it is always worth it. As I endure the difficult times of company/business ownership, reflecting on this achievement helps me see a brighter future.
Don’t give up on your dreams. Believe in God. Believe in your natural capabilities.
