Equality Act?

Did you read the equality act? I read it because I like to conduct personal research instead of being programmed by the media. It takes few minutes to read it. It is interesting that bill is titled “equality act” while the bill seeks to suppress religious freedom to disagree with proposed gender ideologies. It is similar to the way murdering the unborn is called “women’s right” or “human right”.

The “equality act” opposes core Biblical truths about gender and sexuality. Section 1107 of the bill implies that preaching or demonstrating that one believes these truths- 1 Corinthians 6:9, Genesis 5:2, 1 Timothy 1:10 should be considered a violation of the United States law. It also seeks to place our little ones in great danger- no gender restrictive access to public restrooms and federally funded institutions. Interestingly, the bill adds pregnant women and women generally to the list of those in need of protection.

Notice that I have chosen my words purposefully. When addressing the implications of the proposed bill, I used “seek to” in place of “will” because it is important that we do not align our words with the enemy’s agenda. You know who the enemy is. It is important to bear in mind that those championing this bill and the LGBTQ community are not the enemies. Yes, I understand that this group have been hated on in the name of religion. This is disheartening and unjust. Yet, it is important that we learn to disagree peacefully.

In light of this bill, it is extremely important that we keep our love on as Bible believing Christians, practice speaking with grace, and seek God on behalf of this nation- the United States. Avoid saying “this bill will destroy our children’s lives, force Churches to….”. I believe saying these negative words are prophetic. It is unproductive to pray then say things that negate one’s prayers.

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we must be ready to face the fire. The fact is that Christianphobia and Biblephobia exists. The truth is that God reigns and we have overcomed the world.

Please meditate on these scriptures. Let them encourage you, guide your prayer and response to the enemy’s agenda:

But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.1 John 4:4-6

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Isaiah 5:20-21

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Psalm 2:1-4

And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 10:22

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Isaiah 54:15

Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us. Isaiah 8:10

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. Psalm 7:9

Be encouraged!

  1. So true. It is important ‘that we do not align our words with the enemy’s agenda’.

Well said. These times require great discernment and wisdom concerning the words that we will speak or write.

Religiophobia is another one of these ‘phobias’.

However, we were created for this time in history.
May the Lord grant us increased unity and courage. ⚘

    1. Amen! Grandma Sally, thank you for sharing your wisdom.

While I am sad about the bill, a part of me is excited to be alive for such a challenging time as this. We get to practically do what Daniel and the apostles did. It is an adventure and fight of faith.

Luke 21:15 says “For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.”

      Love wins.

      1. Hi Temi !
Yes, I so agree with you. This is definitely ‘an adventure and fight of faith’.
However, the Lord has uniquely equipped us for such a time as this.
Thanks for the words from Luke 21:15.
Continued blessings to you and your precious family. 🤗

  2. Thank you for this post. I’m very concerned, but won’t worry.
In addition to praying, I hope people contact senators about the vote.

    1. Amen.
Ephesians 6:12 says “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
      We must not forget this.

  3. Thank you for saying something about this! I was speaking to my wife about this act yesterday and found it was really stirring my Spirit. It’s good you mentioned to not say will and to not speak of what negative things the act will do. The righteous live by faith and we speak by faith. God bless you

    1. Thank you. I pray that this situation will cause many to return to the faith.

Psalm 141:3-4 Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil.

  4. Very well thought out post. This speak truth and not hate. I love how you said those who are championing this bill and the LGBTQ community are not the enemies and directed it back to who the true enemy of all of us are.

    1. Thank you Jasmine. Matthew 10:16 says “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.”
God is the one who empowers us to walk in wisdom and love! ❤

  5. Oh wow..thank you Temi for writing on this, I wasn’t aware otherwise.
I like what you said about doing your own research rather than going off of news, so important.
Praying we may stand strong for His glory in these times.

  6. yes, Temi, the fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers… God is urging us all to get our armour on (Eph 6)
