GOD WANTS YOU AND ME TO BENEFIT FROM HIS GIFT OF THE WORD!
Have you enjoyed the series “Where Can a Tiny Seed Take You?” Sharing my heart with other Christian mothers has been an honor and a privilege.
Today, let’s explore where God is taking us. Be sure to share your insights from the series in the comments below.
YES! HE IS ALWAYS TALKING TO YOU AND ME!

Can you recall a time when the Holy Spirit gave you a clear revelation seemingly out of nowhere? One such day, I was quietly meditating on the supernatural birth of Jesus as recorded in Luke 1:26-55. Suddenly, as if presenting me with a vivid, moving picture, the revelation unfolded. The Holy Spirit showed me that all born-again Christians, men, and women alike, have a spiritual womb. In my heart, I saw clearly what He was revealing to me.
SEEING INTO THE PRESENT
Our spiritual womb houses the Word of God, a spiritual seed, much like a natural womb holds a natural seed.
By diving into the Word of God, I discovered one of its benefits: revealed knowledge from meditating on the Seed of the Word of God. The revelation was this: our spiritual womb houses the Word of God, a spiritual Seed, much like a natural womb holds a natural seed. The process of carefully planting and nurturing that Seed, coupled with the light of revelation from the Holy Spirit, results in our giving birth to the Word. The Word becomes flesh where it can be seen, just as it did with Jesus and similarly with the natural birth of any baby. Can you see the parallel?
A DEEPER REVELATION: HE NEEDS YOU AND ME!
After much meditation and listening, it happened! Voila! It became increasingly clear that God has hidden within this passage the perfect illustration of His plan for us to give birth to His Word using our spiritual wombs. In Luke 1:26-55, four necessary elements work together to accomplish His purpose of sending Jesus, His living Word, to earth. Jesus came as both a natural and supernatural Seed. Conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit, He was housed in the natural womb of a willing vessel, Mary, and then birthed as a flesh-and-blood man with a sinless nature. See how God needs willing mortals like Mary to fulfill His earthly purposes! His Word became flesh, the Man Jesus, and dwelt among us. John 1:1,14 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” Glory to God!
HOW CAN I USE THIS GIFT?
Why would the Holy Spirit give me, one of His many children, this revelation? He always speaks to each of us in different ways. We are each unique, seeing things from various perspectives. Those in His body are expected to share what He shows us. He is no respecter of persons. God has gifted us with this revelation to share and use for His glory. He expects His Word, which we speak and house in our spiritual womb, to become flesh where we can see it working with our natural eyes. For example, when I need physical healing, I find a Scripture that pertains to God’s will for me to be well.
It is important to remember that God does not work alone. While He has provided His Word, a Seed, and the power of the Holy Spirit to teach and bring revelation of the Word, our responsibility is to read, study, and meditate on it. He needs you and me to do our part in getting His kingdom to fruition. See how much He needs us? Can you believe it? His work on earth will only be done with our cooperation. Yes, friend, your and my participation is vital in fulfilling God’s earthly plan. It is difficult to grasp the importance of our role in God’s plan for mankind. Have you ever aspired to be in a movie? Now is your opportunity. How exciting to be a participant in the most incredible show on earth produced by God Himself, the Original Producer of the universe! We have only to listen, obey, and follow His direction. Take a few minutes to let this fact marinate in your spirit.
FOLLOW THE RECIPE EXACTLY TO GET GOOD RESULTS
When Glenn and I married, we were young and inexperienced in many things. One of the ways I was least prepared to serve my new husband was by cooking a good meal. My mother was a godly woman. She was loving, kind, generous, and humble, teaching me many valuable life lessons. Mama was also a great cook. I was number eight of nine children. She was forty-one when I was born. Her life had been hard physically, emotionally, and mentally—she was tired and had little energy to teach me to cook. Of course, I showed little interest, thinking more like a teenager about having fun, but not in the kitchen laboring! When we married, I was unprepared to cook in any form or fashion. After several cooking disasters (one in which I boiled the shrimp before frying it), I finally learned to follow the recipe exactly to get good results. After many years of cooking, I enjoy the process and am, in fact, a good cook. To excel in practicing the principles of God requires us to do the same thing. We must follow God’s recipe exactly to get good results.
I hope you have enjoyed God’s messages on my heart to share! May seeds of wisdom help you cultivate a fresh and exciting perspective as you benefit from the word and expression of God revealed to you, in Jesus’ Name!

Your less than stellar cooking prowess that improved when you learned to follow recipes is a fabulous analogy for precisely following God’s recipe to get good results. Thank you! 🙂
