After signing a petition for families in the United States to receive up to 12 weeks of paid leave post-partum, I started thinking about the power to influence policies. Last year, I wrote a post about finding favor on my job to encourage mothers to trust God on their jobs. Is it possible for a […]

Back to School Prayer of Thanksgiving for Our Children
As we send our children back to school this new year, let’s start the school year strong with the prayer of thanksgiving (an act of prophetic confession) over our children (you may replace the word child with your child or children’s name): Heavenly father, thank you for your protection over my child. Thank you for […]
There is power in praying for your children — BEYOND MY LIMITATIONS
I was moved by Dawn’s blog post entitled, “I Will Give You Rest” and thought about my own child as I read her post. One of the greatest things about being a parent is watching your child grow up. That’s also one of the hardest things, particularly when the paths our kids choose don’t line […] […]
Two Ways to Honor Military Veterans
I will be honest that I did not join the military hoping to go to war. I am thankful I did not have to. Some of my “battle buddies” wanted to deploy and retire. I just wanted to serve and leave. While I left the military with physical injuries, others left with both physical and […]
4 Ways to Protect your Children from Becoming Victims of Racism
Two days ago, My dear sister, kim Petitt shared her personal experience as a mother raising a Black son in the 21st Century. Please read her short post HERE. We can’t trust our governments to protect our children. They are failing every child regardless of race. While some local churches are speaking up through the […]
Raising a Black son in the 21st century
Feeling afraid is a natural feeling of being a new mom. We’ve all laid awake at night pondering questions like, “do I have what it takes to raise this tiny human being when I don’t have my own life figured out?” “Am I going to ruin this kid?” But soon after the birth of my […]
Don’t Give Up
I have been hurt several times when I didn’t receive what I asked God for. I have had circumstances that made me say “this is too much for one person to deal with”, “why me?”, and “why did God let this happen?”.
Prayer In The Waiting Room
This is what being a Christian Momma looks like, seeing people through God’s eyes and carrying God’s presence everywhere we go. Not because we are perfect, but because we serve a God willing to work through imperfect vessels. Enjoy this great post by fellow blogger, Dawn @drawingclosertochrist.com
Hope for Autism
This message is for you, momma feeling hopeless about your child’s condition. It is okay to think I have no idea what you are dealing with. That may be true, but God knows what you are going through and He has led me to share this with you. My prayer is that these scriptures will […]
Let it Go
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. This is for the intercessors standing in the gap. This is for parents burdened about the wrong choices and health of their children. This is for everyone who believes in the Lord, Jesus. Cast ALL your care upon God. Be […]
First, Pray
It may sound ridiculous but worrying is the easiest and hardest thing we can do when faced with trials. It’s the easiest thing because it comes naturally and sometimes gives us a false sense of control. It is also the hardest thing because it has negative impacts on our spirit, soul, and body. Philippians 4:6 […]
Reblog:The Season of ‘No’
Wonderful spiritual lesson by another Christian momma raising a toddler. My little one is only 9-month-old but I am already using the words, “Don’t” and “no”. One major take-away from this article is that God doesn’t keep things from us, He keeps them for us. This is why patience is important in our walk with […]
Prayer Challenge: Day 5
Wow! It’s the third month of the year already and the last day of the 5 days of prayer for my children challenge. Day 5 of the reading plan encourages us to study our children. This will help us pray uniquely or specifically for each child and build a good parent-child relationship. We are wrapping […]
Prayer Challenge: Day 4
Today’s message is titled “fight for your family”. You can listen to the entire message here and watch a short clip below. I love this. It got me fired up! Stay blessed!
Pray Challenge: Day 3
Day 3 of the reading plan reminds us our children are gifts from God and that’s one reason for us to celebrate our children. The plan encourages us to model gratitude, be grateful for our children and express our gratitude for the opportunity to be parents. Emphasis on Psalm 127:3-5. With reference to yesterday’s blog, […]

Update: Asia Bibi is FREE!
Exactly two months ago, I wrote a blog post requesting the support of Christian mommas in the fight to prevent the execution of a Christian mom who was charged with blasphemy in Pakistan. The Christian mom, Asia Bibi is finally FREE! Thank God! To everyone who prayed, donated to the cause, and signed the petition- […]
Mothers are Important for Many Reasons But This May Be the MOST Important Reason…..
“Antibodies are passed from mother to baby through the placenta during the last three months of pregnancy. This gives the baby some protection when they are born. The type and amount of antibodies passed to the baby depends on the mother’s own level of immunity……”
While our children are still under our spiritual covering, they must not be overcomed by that which cannot overcome us!
Reasons My Husband and I Can’t Afford to Be Spiritually Lukewarm Parents
Our decision to be more spiritually sensitive and seek God’s help isn’t out of fear that something bad will happen if we are not rightly positioned or don’t do things right. We are simply acknowledging our dependence on God.
