Sometimes, this is what being a mom and student looks like. Playing the piano while studying because the little one doesn’t want to drum alone. He thinks it is more fun to have a musical session with me…So, I had one hand on the piano and the other on my computer. I may not have been fully present in the musical session, but I am glad I did not ignore the invitation to be a part of something the little one considers very important. Your child may have a million toys but they will not do much good if you do not participate in playtime.

It surely takes longer to read these articles, but it’s okay. His healthy brain development depends on nurturing and responsive relationships/environments.
Guess what he asked his father to do while he was drumming and I was playing the piano?! He asked him to dance. We all got a little mental break.
I also find time to go outdoors because it is good for the little one’s mental health. If I neglect attending to his healthy brain development now, I will have to work harder on his mental wellness down the line. This mindset helps me balance parenthood, work and student life.
Wearing many hats is not easy, but I do my best. Thankfully, I have a supportive spouse and my God empowers me to do the impossible.
I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. ~ Philippians 4:12-13
I am so proud of you my sweet daughter 🙂

Aww. 😊 You are such a great mom, sis. 🤗 Kudos to your hubby too.
Thank you sis. God is helping us.
You are welcome, sis.
Yes He is. 😊
You are a wonderful mom, my friend. Sometimes finding that balance can be difficult, it’s always a victory when we get it right
Thank you! ❤ I like that you mentioned ‘victory’. That’s exactly what it is. Finding balance is a constant battle.
Haha! I am catching up on blog reads and I must say, I am glad I found this.
I totally feel you on this one! I sometimes have my kiddo nursing while I type.
How many journal articles are you reading per week? For me this semester has me at almost 3 per week not including regular textbook chapter readings.
Lol! Some things can’t wait. Especially, food. Not less than 12 articles per week. I enjoy reading them though. We’ve got this!
12 articles 😅 wow!
I feel like that’s all a PhD is all about. Read articles, read some more, then apply all you are reading.
