Helper

Writing on marriage today because two wonderful people in my life said “I do” again today. Marriage is a beautiful thing. We reap what we sow into our marriage.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18 (NLT)

What comes to mind when you think of “a helper”?

For me, the Holy Sprit comes to mind. Let’s look at some of the ways the Holy Spirit helps us:

He helps our prayer life and weakness.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26 (NLT)

He helps us remember God’s Word.

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26 (NLT)

He helps us bear good fruit.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

In like manner, the primary goals of marriage is to help each other grow spiritually and raise godly children (good fruit/seed).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for my marriage. In the name of Jesus, teach me how to help my spouse grow spiritually, give us wisdom to train up our children in your ways and empower us to manifest your presence.

Would you like to become a member of God’s family? Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen

Welcome to God’s family!
