Lessons From Sarah and Abraham’s Marriage

Sarah obeyed Abraham [following him and having regard for him as head of their house], calling him lord. And you have become her daughters if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear [that is, being respectful toward your husband but not giving in to intimidation, nor allowing yourself to be led into sin, nor to be harmed]. 1 Peter 3:6 (AMP)

Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. 1 Peter 3:6 (KJV)

Reflections: The husband is the head of the home like Jesus is Lord over the Church. A wife’s obedience to her spouse should not be rooted in fear but rooted in God’s love. That is, obey your spouse in matters that do not violate God’s commandments.

Once again, the Bible is not misogynistic. The Bible is the manual for doing marriage right.

Have a blessed month!

Would you like to become a member of God’s family? Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen

Welcome to God’s family!
