Reflection: Proverbs 14:34-35

In 2021, Our Given Purpose: Bible Study and Daily Devotional extended Christian Mommas a collaboration opportunity. The opportunity was taken with delight to continue advancing God’s kingdom through written words. Collaborating with fellow believers often provides the encouragement we all need to keep walking in our God-given purpose. Here is this month’s contribution.

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

Proverbs 14:34-35 (KJV)

While we are yet to have a nation where everyone is walking in God’s ways, everyone will benefit from living in a nation with laws that are right in God’s eyes. Shame and confusion are inevitable when the laws of our nations promote unrighteousness, injustice, and all forms of evil. So, what can we do on behalf of our nations? We can pray and repent.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The righteousness of those who claim to be God’s people is the key to eradicating the influence or grip of sin in every nation.

God’s people are God’s servants, and we miss out on God’s favor when we compromise in our walk with God. In this day and age where good is evil, and evil is good, those who serve God are assured favor from God for choosing God’s truth. Ephesians 5:15 (AMP) says, “Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people],”

As more of God’s people choose God’s wisdom and truth over compromise, I believe we will experience God’s favor upon our lives and nations.

In the name of Jesus, receive the grace to serve God and live a life that honors God. Amen

If today was your last day on earth, do you know where you will spend eternity? Are you sure you will make it to heaven? If you are not sure, you need to give your life to Jesus Christ. Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.

Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive Your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen
