We are living in a time of global chaos. Bible-believing Christians should not panic; instead, we should focus on cultivating inner peace and giving peace (2 Peter 1:2; Matthew 10:13).
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, cultivating means nurturing, developing, and improving something. This blog series will help you nurture and multiply your peace and become an agent of peace. You deserve peace in your spirit, soul, and body!
Psalm 34:14 (KJV) says, “Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.”
Seek and Pursue are action words. When we play the “hide and seek” game with little children, we actively take steps to seek them. When we have a dream, we pursue it wholeheartedly to make sure we achieve it and not lose it due to distractions. In like manner, we must be intentional about seeking and pursuing peace—be purposeful about cultivating, not losing peace.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (KJV)
As I ponder these words, I see that we have a responsibility to Let Not our hearts be troubled and Let Not our hearts be afraid. I see that Jesus gave us peace, but we must receive His peace to enjoy peace. It is also evident that peace and fear cannot coexist. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)
So, when we lose peace or find ourselves fearful, we are not fully yielding to God and nurturing the peace Jesus gave us.
Jesus has given us Peace, the Holy Spirit. That’s why the fruit of the Spirit is peace (Galatians 5:22). The question is, Are we going to let Peace work in us? The powerful and gentle Holy Spirit will only work in us if we let Him. Let’s yield to the Holy Spirit daily. Is a relationship stealing your peace? Yield to the Holy Spirit. You need Him to exercise patience, persevere, forgive, or receive courage to separate yourself from toxic relationships.
Do you have a financial situation stealing your peace? Yield to the Spirit of excellence, innovation, and wisdom for help and direction (Daniel 6:3-4; Exodus 35:31-35). The Holy Spirit is your helper. Talk to Him today.
If today was your last day on earth, do you know where you will spend eternity? Are you sure you will make it to heaven? If you are not sure, you need to give your life to Jesus Christ. Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.
Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive Your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen
