The First Mention of Love in the Bible (Part 2)

Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

Genesis 22:2 (NKJV)

In the previous post, we addressed the fact that the word “love” is first used in a parent-child relationship because God wants us to understand that we first come to know love through human relationships with our parents.

Today, I invite you to ponder this truth- God pays attention to the love between parents and children, and God will hold us accountable for the impact of our parenting (Romans 14:12). We should always ask God for mercy and the grace to do parenting His way.
