Then the angel replied to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a cloud]; for that reason the holy (pure, sinless) Child shall be called the Son of God…Then Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel left her.
Luke 1:35 & 38 (AMP)
First, I find it beautiful that the Holy Spirit who came upon Mary and empowered her to conceive Jesus is available to every woman who desires Him today. That’s the best thing in women’s history! We can parent, do marriage, and do other things that pertain to life with the power of the Holy Spirit.
The greatest gift Jesus made available through his resurrection is the Holy Spirit.
John 16:7 (AMP) says:
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
Before the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit came upon a few people, empowering them to prophecy and do the impossible (Judges 14:6; 1 Samuel 16:13; 1 Kings 18:46; Luke 2:25). After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit was given as a gift to help, comfort, and empower believers to live like Jesus (John 14:26; Romans 8:11-16) . God’s powerful and gentle Spirit can now dwell in and rest upon anyone who believes in Jesus. You only need to receive the Holy Spirit as a gift from God.
Acts 19:2 & 5-6 (AMP) says:
He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [in Jesus as the Christ]?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” After hearing this, they were baptized [again, this time] in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and prophesying.
Perhaps, you have not heard of this Holy Spirit before. You can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit right where you are. Perhaps, you have heard of this Holy Spirit, but you do not have a relationship with Him—you can begin to cultivate a relationship with him today.
Luke 11:13 (KJV) says:
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Your Word says you will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask you. I ask for your Holy Spirit to dwell in me and come upon me in the name of Jesus.
If today was your last day on earth, do you know where you will spend eternity? Are you sure you will make it to heaven? If you are not sure, you need to give your life to Jesus Christ. Please say the prayer below and let me know about it here.
Say this: Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I receive your love and forgiveness. Reveal yourself to me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen
Welcome to God’s family!

Thank you, Temi, for such wonderfully informative blogs! I particularly love the prayers you share to give readers the words they want to say, but can’t quite find.
The Holy Spirit acts like the coffee filter in my life. Without the Holy Spirit, I can be bitter and hot (tempered). I’m so glad we have a Comforter and a Counselor who wants to help shape our words and actions.
