Are you a perfectionist? Type A? Hard on yourself? Have high expectations of yourself?
Lamentations 3:23” The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness.”
What an amazing gift! New mercy every single morning!
I have to be honest. I blow it everyday. Either with my kids, my nutrition, my fitness, or all 3. But I am learning to give myself the same grace that Jesus gives me. He doesn’t expect me to be perfect, so why do I get so frustrated with myself when I don’t measure up to whatever unrealistic expectations I have for myself?
What if , instead of feeling like a failure, I saw my weaknesses as a reason to press into Him more?! What if I actually relied on Him rather than my own performance?!
I think we as women, especially, tend to want to be all things to all people and do it all perfectly. But guess what, we can’t!
So, let’s Purpose in our hearts to lean on Him, and give ourselves grace. And to not wallow in guilt but get back up and start again!
