Reflections: Veterans Day 2022

Pro Deo et Patria!

About 9 years ago, I was an international student who was given a life-changing opportunity to serve in the United States Army. I was recruited because my country of birth, Nigeria, is home to Boko Haram, the deadliest terrorist organization in the world. I will not go into further details.

Through my military benefits, I got to complete 3 Masters degrees and a Ph.D. without financial difficulties. And many doors have opened up just because I served. When people tell me “thank you for your service”, I always tell them “it is a privilege to have served”, because I gained a lot from the benefits and challenges of serving.

The army values I embraced taught me the importance of loyalty, respect, honor, and selfless service, impacting my relationships, organization management, and spiritual intelligence.

I give my God all the glory for giving me the strength and heart to serve! And I am still serving through Christian Mommas, and discounted services LittleOnes provides for those affiliated with the military.

To my fellow veterans, thank you for your service!

This weekend, let’s spend time honoring our military veterans. Consider celebrating veterans in your lineage, visiting a military museum, or praying for veterans. Let’s cultivate a culture of honor.

PS: Christian Mommas is a veteran-owned organization, and we are all about serving. We invite you to transform the family system with Christian Mommas by becoming a financial partner, volunteering to serve, and/or sharing our content with your loved ones.
